Terre Restaurant

I've eaten in a few starred establishments in Ireland and was beginning to question whether Michelin scored differently in ireland to elsewhere as most wouldnt have their stars if located elsewhere IMHO. Terre had proven my theory wrong. It was truly exceptional from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. An amazing culinary voyage through the best ingredients the land and sea ireland has to offer. From the aperitif in the drawing room which was gorgeous, warm and comfortable, served by exceptional staff to moving in to the kitchen to get a walk through from Chef James on what the ingredients for our meal would be and their providence to finally the restaurant itself with its understated yet luxurious surroundings overlooking the beautiful gardens even in the horizontal Irish rain! The menu with wine pairings was fantastic from start to finish. Its hard to get wine pairings as perfect as these were. Tasting some of them pre food made us wonder how they would fit as they were so distinctive but when their respective dishes arrived it all made complete sense. A truly memorable dining experience and will 100% be back!

We know & love some 2 star restaurants but this one surprised us. Caveat: Don’t read further if you’d like to be surprised.
Starting with the concept of changing rooms for different courses, the tuna snack from Shauna was the first of many wow moments.
Head gardener Kevin then brought us through into the kitchen -we will be back for the summertime when he actually brings you outside for a garden tour.
Once in the kitchen, we briefly met chef Lewis and got an introduction to the main ingredients beautifully laid out on ice.
Then it was time for the main event in the actual restaurant. Our highlights were the sea bass dish and duck dish (especially the skin). The petit fours were served back in the front room to finish off a fabulous event, not just dinner. We felt we were having a private dining experience at any time even when people were around us. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended, absolutely fabulous food experience! We booked Terre for our 10th anniversary and had fantastic time enjoying very unique food, beautifully served food by chef Lewis Barker and his team.
I loved the welcoming reception with 2 appetisers and glass of champagne, then the kitchen section where we were served with 2 more appetisers and the whole dinner menu - fantastic!
Also, enjoyed the ambiance in Terre - quite, very pleasant music, soft spot light, the colours and beautiful round tables with white table cloth.

If there is a spa for body, Terre restaurant is a spa for your stomach and eyes! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you, Terre team!
